The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the citizens to be aware of scams during the recovery efforts from the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.
If you were affected in some way during the hurricane make sure you know who you are dealing with related to any work or repairs you may have to do or any losses you may have suffered, said Captain Cliff Arnette.
Do not give out any of your personal information to someone you don’t know.
Remember “if it sounds too good to be true it probably is”. If you think you are being scammed or have been scammed contact your local law enforcement agency.
