Ms. Shirl Carter has been selected as Teacher of the Year at Dillon Middle School.
Ms. Carter has 28 years teaching experience.  She is currently in her 18th year with Dillon School District Four.  
She graduated from Dillon High School and went on to further her education at Erskine College, where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education.  She received her Master of Education Degree in Physical Education from Winthrop University.  
Ms. Carter has been recognized as a National Board Certified teacher for the past 15 years.  In addition to teaching, she is the head varsity volleyball coach for the Lady Wildcats and serves as Athletic Director at Dillon Middle School.
Ms. Carter states, “It is truly a blessing and an honor to be selected as Teacher of the Year by my colleagues.”  
Dillon Middle School is proud to have Ms. Carter represent our school as Teacher of the Year for the 2016-2017 school year.
