Council Approves Purchase of Property for Lake View Trash Site
At a recent meeting, County Administrator Clay Young told the Dillon County Council that a location had been found for a convenience site. The location is at the intersection of Seventh Extension and Fordtown Road. The purchase price for the property is $5,000. Councilman Bobby Moody made the motion seconded by Councilman Harold Moody. All voted in favor of the motion.

Council Approves Recreation Requests
The Dillon County Council approved several recreation requests at their April 28th meeting. The following requests were approved upon a motion by Councilman Bobby Moody and a second by Councilman Robbie Coward: $50.00 payable to New Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church for a donation to help further a deserving student to continue his education in the fall of 2016, from Randy Goings’ recreation account; $150.00 payable to Marshill Bibleway Church for fundraising events, $100.00 from Archie Scott’s recreation and $50.00 from Randy Goings’ recreation; $225.00 payable to New Jerusalem Holy Church of God for Youth Day, $200.00 from Randy Goings’ recreation and $25.00 from Bobby Moody’s recreation; $100.00 payable to American Cancer Society for Relay for Life on May 21st for Mount Calvary Baptist Church from Stevie Grice’s recreation; $625.00 payable to Communities for Students of Dillon County Annual Scholarship Program, $250.00 from T.F. Finklea’s recreation, $75.00 from Randy Goings’ recreation, $100.00 each from Bobby Moody’s, Stevie Grice’s, and Harold Moody’s recreation.
