Rev. Horace L. Jackson, 90, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Dillon, SC with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home.  Visitation will be 1:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Born in Dillon County, December 30, 1925, he was the son of the late James Randall Jackson and Swannie Miller Jackson.  
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Florence, was the widower of the late Hazel Herring Jackson, was a graduate of Latta High School in 1943, Pembroke University 1967, and South Eastern Seminary in 1970.
 He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II, he was former President of Brother’s Food in Dillon, County Commissioner for four years, and Probate Judge for four years.  He was presently serving as Pastor of Swift Creek Baptist Church in Hartsville.
He was former pastor of Oakdale Baptist Church in Fairmont, NC, Franklinton Baptist Church in Franklinton, NC, and Sunset Baptist Church in Wilmington, NC.  He retired in March 2005 and continued on after his retirement with 31 interims in NC and SC.
Survivors include his daughters, Sandra J. Truax and Susan J. Turner both of Florence; son, Richard D.  (Lynn) Jackson of Dillon; sister, Betty Campbell and Virginia Jackson, both of Dillon; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Leona Rogers and Estelle Allard; brothers, Walter,  Craig and Tommy Jackson.
