Two Latta High School players have signed to play at the college level. Kartilus McFadden will be playing football at the Palmetto Prep Academy. Eric McGirt will be playing baseball at USC Sumter.

Kartilus McFadden of Latta High School signed with Palmetto Prep Academy to play football.
McFadden has been playing foorball since the age of 8. He was most influenced in this sport by Adrian Peterson, an NFL player. He also plays basketball and runs track.
McFadden believes that Palmetto Prep Academy will push him to be a better player and will help him get where he wants to be.
He will carry with him his work ethics, his skill level, and his effot to win.
He is a running back. While in high school, he has been named All-Zone and All-Region. At college, he will major in sports management.
He enjoys spending time with his family, shopping, and playing football and of course, working out.
His parents said they are very proud of him and his accomplishments. He will do well at school as he is a good young man, they said. He has the right morals instilled in him by his family.
“I’m very happy for Kartilus for making a great decision to further his Academic and Athletic career. Kartilus is a very humble and hard working young man in the classroom and on the football field. It was an honor and pleasure to coach a great young man like Kartilus,” said Coach Brandon Iseman.
Eric McGirt of Latta High School signed with USC Sumter to play baseball.
McGirt has been playing baseball since he was nine years old. He was most influenced to play this sport by his friends. He also enjoys playing basketball.
McGirt believes that USC Sumter has a good program that will push him to where he needs to be, and he will contribute his work ethic, winning effort, and skills to the team.
McGirt plays centerfield. While in high school, he has been named MVP, All-State, and All Region.
He enjoys workign out and playing basketball and baseball.
McGirt plans to major in sports management.
“Eric has been an important part of the success Latta baseball has had the last three years. He is a solid center fielder and has excelled in the lead off position of our batting order. Eric is a good teammate and I am proud to coach him,” said Coach Don Cribb.
