Dillon – Claudia Martin Herring, 86, returned to her Lord and Savior on August 7, 2010. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon. Funeral services will be Monday, August 9, 2010 in the Kannaday Funeral Home Chapel at 4:00 PM with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.

She was born May 5, 1924 the beloved daughter of Viola E. Williamson and John Henry Martin. She was the widow of Charlie Herring, a housewife, and mother.

She leaves behind daughters Emily Altman Page of Dillon, SC, Christine Altman (Russell) Miller of Dillon, SC, snd Carol Altman (Tommy) Ginn of Columbia, SC; one son William “Bill” (Linda) Altman of Garden City, SC; sisters Lois M. Thomas of Marion, SC and Ruby Metz of Moncks Corner, SC; grandchildren Richard Cox, Sandra Bettex, and Rocky Altman.

She was predeceased by her brothers Grover, Herbert, Venoy, and Hampton Martin; and one grandson Ronnie Cox.

Prior to her death she resided in the Pines nursing Home. She died of natural causes.
