The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several church break-ins that have occurred throughout the county. According to an incident report by deputies Danielle Fling and Glenn Coates deputies responded to an alarm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Hamer on February 17th and upon arrival deputies met with a member that was on scene and it was determined that the power had been tampered with and a door was discovered open and at a later time it was determined that some electronic items were stolen, on February 20th Deputy Richard Lee responded to a burglary at Hazy Grove Baptist Church in Hamer where a door was forced open and a mini refrigerator was stolen, on February 22nd deputies Ricky Day, Glenn Coates and Investigator Allan Rogers responded to a burglary at Poplar Creek Baptist Church in Lake View where the power was tampered with and a door forced open and musical equipment stolen and on February 23rd Deputy Danielle Rogers responded to a burglary at Zion Temple Holiness Church in Dillon where a window was discovered removed, nothing reported missing.
