Services for Jack Mew were held Wednesday at 4: 00 P.M. in the Hamer Church of God with burial in Riverside Cemetery.  Visitation was 7-9 Tuesday in Cooper Funeral Home.
Mr. Mew, 87, died Monday in the Pines Nursing Home.
Born in Horry County, June 29, 1923, he was the son the late James Avanda Mew and Frances Stalvey Mew.  He was a member of Hamer Church of God, was an Army Veteran of World War II, taught Sunday School for many years, and retired from Pargas.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel B. Mew of Hamer; daughters, Jackie (Tommy) Lambert of Georgetown and Renee (Stan) Isgett of Timmonsville;  step daughter, Phyllis Ann Saunders of Charlotte, N.C.; sons, James Mew, Harold (Bonnie) Mew, and Mark (Faith) Mew of Dillon, Donald (Ruth) Mew of Bloomingdale, GA., and Byron (Pam) Mew of Myrtle Beach; step son, Gene (Cathy) Baxley of Dillon; sisters, Hylia Stalvey, Nina Ree Lee, and Elizabeth Jones of Myrle Beach; 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Byrd Mew, 2 grandchildren, 1 great- grandchild, 4 brothers, and 4 sisters.
