The second annual Magnolia Cemetery Luminary Service was held, December 5, 2015, to remember the loved ones who have passed away in the past year.   The service was design to honor the memories and lives of the ones who have gone on before us by worship, lighting of candles, and reading of names.  Candles were lit along the roads of the cemetery, inside the chapel, and the family had an opportunity to place angel luminaries on the graves.

The Luminary Service was held in the Kannaday Funeral Home Chapel in Latta.  The service opened with a Word of Prayer given by Christopher H. Daniels who is the Minister, Grief Counselor, and Funeral Director Apprentice at Kannaday Funeral Home.  A video presentation was presented by the funeral home called, “A Virgin’s Lullaby”. The Message of Legacy was presented by Pastor Carroll Stephens of Bermuda Baptist Church.  The music was provided by Judy Gardner of Latta. During the Reading of Names the congregation was reminded, “Let Your Candle Shine” and the closing remarks was presented by Minister Christopher H. Daniels.  The Reading of Names was provided by Ryan L. Kannaday, Jr. After the service concluded people were able walk and drive through the cemetery which contained several hundred luminaries and enjoyed refreshments provided by Kannaday Funeral Home.
Brittany Smallwood, Samantha Smallwood, Kelli Smallwood-Daniels, and Zachary Parker lit the candles in front of the funeral home and cemetery.  Lora McInnis lit the personal luminaries in the chapel.  Susan Kannaday provided the wonderful refreshments.

The Message of Legacy was presented by Rev. James S. Smith of East Dillon Baptist Church.  The music was provided by Rev. Myrt and Deborah Johnson of Dillon Pentecostal Holiness Church.  During the Reading of Names the congregation was reminded, “Let Your Candle Shine” and the closing remarks was presented by Ryan L. Kannaday, Jr. who is the owner and caretaker of Kannaday Funeral Home and Greenlawn Cemetery.  After the service concluded people were able walk and drive through the cemetery which contained several hundred luminaries and enjoyed refreshments by the fireplace.
