John W. Brown, age 50, of 1310 Shagbark Drive, Dillon, SC 29536, was arrested on December 2, 2015, by deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office and charged with Domestic Violence, Third Degree (S.C. Ann. 16-25-020(A)) and Assault and Battery, Second Degree (S.C. Ann. 16-03-600(D)(1)).
On December 2, 2015, at approximately 11:20 a.m., Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of an alleged domestic problem at the intersection of Interstate 95 and Highway 327 in Florence County.
Based on witness statements at the scene, deputies arrested John W. Brown and charged him with Domestic Violence, Third Degree and Assault and Battery, Second Degree. According to investigators, Brown is alleged to have assaulted and made verbal threats to a female victim. In addition, Brown is alleged to have shoved a witness to the ground who was attempting to intervene on behalf of the female victim. Upon information and belief, Brown is an investigator with the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
At a bond hearing December 3rd, a Florence County Magistrate set bond on the Domestic Violence charge in the amount of $2500.00 (surety) and on the Assault and Battery charge at $2000.00 (surety).
