The Dillon County Voter Registration Office has officially relocated. The office is now located at 305 West Hampton Street, Dillon, in the former Dillon County Sheriff’s Office behind the Dillon County Courthouse.
The stand-alone office will been an improvement from the minute a voter pulls up. There is more available parking in front of and at the rear of the building.
A ramp in the front makes it more handicapped accessible making it easier for voters to get in and out of the building.
The office is much more spacious than the previous location. One is greeted by a waiting area in the front of the building.
There is better and more storage for the voting machines, and more room for the employees to get their jobs done.
Voters will also have more privacy when casting absentee ballots due to the layout of the office.
The office is an overall improvement for all involved in the election process.
Director Susie Edwards said the office is much more convenient for voters. County Administrator Clay Young said he was pleased with the move and feels that the winners will be the public.
If you have voter registration or election related questions, please call the office at 843-774-1403.
