In addition to the pleas accepted in General Sessions Court by Judge Roger Henderson on Monday of last week, as reported in The Dillon Herald in last week, several other matters were handled.
Cruz Harley, represented by private attorney Grant Smaldone, was sentenced to nine years on burglary and drug charges.  Harley was prosecuted by Assistant Solicitor Shipp Daniel.
Perry Lighty, represented by the public defender’s office and also prosecuted by Daniel, was sentenced to four years on a charge of criminal conspiracy.
Graciano Landaverde, prosecuted by Assistant Solicitor Lee Hayes and represented by the public defender’s office, was sentenced to six years for aggravated resisting arrest.
Jamaal Hailey pled guilty to felon in possession of a firearm on Wednesday and was sentenced to 90 days to be followed by probation.  He was immediately taken to the jail to begin serving his sentence.  During a routine search during booking, jail staff found marijuana pinned to Hailey’s undergarments.  It was determined that Hailey had the marijuana hidden in his pants even when he stood before the Court to plead guilty to the weapons charge.  Hailey then pled Thursday to having contraband in the jail and was sentenced to a year in prison.
Among others pleading last week are:  Cedric Wright (drugs), Quincy Cribb (assault and battery), Jevictor Campbell (assault and battery), Rokim Bethea (drugs), Prentis Sellers (drugs), Sabrina Bethea (financial transaction card theft), Casey Cribbs (drugs), Christopher Caulder (assault and battery), David Pittman (failure to stop for a blue light), Doreshia McCall (financial transaction card fraud), Terry Jenkins (domestic violence), Eleanor Sellers (drugs), Dahndra Moore (failure to stop for a blue light), Jeremy Cousar (drugs), Gary Pace (domestic violence), Antasia McNeil (domestic violence), Matthew Hodge (forgery, possession of stolen goods, financial transaction card fraud), and Gerald Howland (failure to stop for a blue light, shoplifting).
