To The Editor:
We trust our military service people to fight for freedom around our world and they carry a gun to protect themselves. They do an excellent job and we are so proud of them.
But here at home in our military recruiting centers, they are not allowed to have guns to protect themselves. They are sitting targets for criminals to kill them.
Are we next taking guns from our policemen? How are they to fight crime with no guns?
I am 87 years old and I cannot believe in your new laws to fight crime. Here at home we do not trust our military to have guns to protect themselves.
I call this weakness in leadership for our USA not to provide safety for our military here at home.
Pray for our country as we increase in all kinds of crime everyday.
We sit back and watch t.v. all the time as the bad stuff increases and we have no compassion for our military.
When I was young I worked for the government at Fort Jackson, SC, and our military got great respect from us citizens at home.
Our military deserves protection for themselves as they fight to protect our USA today.
