The Yellow Jessamine Garden Club’s continuing summer project is the beautification of the J.P. Camp Roadside Park, located on Highway 9. Each member of the club volunteers to take a week and clean the park. Such duties are: cleaning flower beds, cutting grass, removing weeds, watering flowers, and removing trash.
Many visitors traveling through Dillon, stop by to enjoy a brief visit and take photos at the park. It is also the site of a Blue Star Memorial By-Way which is sponsored by The Yellow Jessamine Club. Cleaning and preserving this roadside park is a great way to show our appreciation for Dillon County and our Armed Forces.
The Yellow Jessamine Garden Club is a member of The National Garden Clubs, Inc., South Atlantic Region of National Council, The Garden Club of South Carolina, Inc., and The Coastal District of The Garden Club of South Carolina.
