The Yellow Jessamine Garden Club took a day trip to Green Sea, SC on July 14th. The group of nine members took a tour of the Harrelson’s Historical 1882 home. Members toured the different rooms full of antiques through the generations.
Mrs. Mary Rose Harrelson lives in the home and was a gracious hostess. The tour continued to the lovely grounds with gazebo, rocking chairs, statues and greenhouses full of lovely plants.
Dianne Pittman, a member of the garden club, organized the tour for the group.
Dianne spent a lot of time in the home when she was a little girl, and she wanted to share her fond memories. For lunch the group went back in time to the lovely retro Coleman’s Dinner. There were red and white checkered floors and red booths plus great food.
The day ended with all the ladies shopping and having a great time.
The Yellow Jessamine Garden Club is a member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc., South Atlantic Region of National Council, The Garden Club Of South Carolina Inc. and the Coastal District of The Garden Club of South Carolina.
