Nearly 40 junior golfers from across the Pee Dee visited the City of Dillon Municipal Golf Course on Thursday, July 16, as part of the South Carolina Junior Golf Association’s Hootie and the Blowfish Summer Tour.

In the girls’ divisions, Cayleigh Jane Goff of Gable, SC, shot a 47 to lead the 7-9 division, with Hannah Palmer of Lake City earning a 55. Goff leads the division in points at 210 and Palmer has 139.

In the girls’ 10-12, Dillon’s Brenna Miller shot a 58 to lead, followed by Florence’s Anna Grace Smith with a 69. Miller leads in the points with 180, followed by Jennifer Rials with 79.5 and Emma Hunt at 77.5. Smith is fourth in the division with 76 points.

In the girls’ 13-18, Shino Sonoda led with an 80 and Kiana Baker finished with a 90. Both girls are from Florence. Baker leads the points division at 160 but Sonoda is right behind at 150 with Ashley Miller in third with 77.

In the boys’ divisions, Chase Broach of Timmonsville and Thomas McDaniel of Lake City tied at 54 in the 7-0 division, with Broach winning a playoff for the points. Ellis June of Florence finished third with a 66. Broach leads the overall standings with 200 points with June in second with 97 and McDaniel in third with 90. Thomas Welch holds the fourth place spot with 76 points.

In the boys’ 10-12, Gene Zeigler of Florence led the field with a 36, followed closely by Takeshi Sonoda, also of Florence, with a 37. Florence’s Jay Smith was third with a 42, and Coward’s Noah Dangerfield finished fourth with a 44. Darlington’s Thomas Davis and Florence’s Drew Jeffords tied for fifth at 45, and Cameron McLeod and Pake June, both of Florence, tied for seventh with a 46. Florence’s Tristen McKay earned a 51 for ninth place, and Clay Cates rounded out the field with a 57.

In the points standings, Sonoda leads with 142.5 points, followed by Zeigler with 127. McKay is in third place with 122.5 points, and McLeod is fourth with 119. Davis is fifth at 114.5; Smith, 111.5; Dangerfield, 108; June, 93.5; Landen Seiffert, 79; Kaiden Shaffer, 75.5; Cates, 74.5; Jeffords, 59.5; and Pearce Scott, 12.

In the boys’ 13-14, Noah Mims of Pamplico earned a 79 and James Potter and Cameron Mills, both of Florence, tied for second at 80. New Zion’s Rylee Goff scored an 83, followed by Darlington’s Stone Godbold in fifth with an 84 and Florence’s Michael Hobbs in sixth with an 85. Lake View’s Dylan Rogers finished seventh with an 86, followed by William Reynolds of Lamar with an 89 and Hunter McDuffie of Lumberton, NC, with a 92.

Dillon’s Ryan Stephens finished 10th with a 96; Luke Parrott, Coward, 112; Will Epps, Scranton, 113; Andy Calcutt, Friendfield, 116; John Matthews, Scranton, 122; and Grayson Hammond, Florence, 132.

Goff leads the division in points at 187.5 with Godbold in second at 143. Mills is third with 131, followed closely by Potter with 130 and Mims with 129.5. Rogers is sixth with 102; Hobbs, 101; Reynolds, 92; Parrott, 71.5; Phipps, 68; Stephens, 59; Epps, 53; Dylan Berg, 52; Calcutt, 45; Brock Patterson,38; McDuffie, 34; and Wilson Long, 22.

In the boys’ 15-18, Turbeville’s JB Muller earned a 73 to lead the field, followed by Timmonsville’s Max Holcombe at 75; Hemingway’s Zachary Owens, 79; and Christian Owens, 83.

Holcombe leads the points standings with 152, with Christian Owens in second at 139, Muller in third with 135.5, and Zachary Owens with 115. Michael Rials is fifth with 86 points; Dylan Dickerson, 72.5; Luke Freeman, 63.5; Wilson Josey, 60.5; Justin Matthews, 58; and Harrison Breeden, 53.5.

The Summer Tour will wrap up this week with stops at The Palms Course at Oakdale today and the Lake City Country Club on Thursday.

The two-day Pee Dee Tour Championship will begin on Tuesday, July 28, at Florence Country Club and wrap up on Wednesday, July 29, at the Country Club of South Carolina. The championship winners will head to the Tommy Cuthbert Championship at Ocean Winds Golf Course on Seabrook Island, SC, on Saturday, August 22, and Sunday, August 23.
