The Latta Lady Vikings edged the visiting Lake View Lady Wild Gators 3-2 in varsity region volleyball action played in Latta on Tuesday, September 5.
The fans witnessed a great match-up between 2 teams who gave it their all! Someone had to lose. In set 1: Lake View 25, Latta 21; set 2: Latta 25, Lake View 19; set 3: Lake View 29, Latta 27; set 4: Latta 25, Lake View 17; and set 5, Latta 16, Lake View 14.
There were great plays from both teams throughout the match-up.
The Vikings and Wild Gators had several leaders but every player contributed in this match.
Some of Latta players included the following: Rylyn Marsh had 27 assists, 2 aces, and 21 served points while Katelynn Roberts had 6 kills, 4 aces, and 9 blocks. Samantha Townsend had 5 kills, 15 served points, and 16 digs. Madison Berry had 3 kills. Maddie Berry had 15 served points and 10 digs. Aubrey Allen had 10 kills. Mason Lockamy had 12 served points. Hendley Ann McIntyre had 20 digs.
Latta will also host another region game versus Hannah-Pamplico today (Thursday, September 7) at 6:30 p.m.
Lake View will host Green Sea Floyds at 6:00 p.m. today (Thursday, September 7) at 6:00 p.m.

The Lake View Lady Wild Gators edged the Latta Lady Vikings 2-1 in junior varsity volleyball action played in Latta on Tuesday, September 5, as the fans were treated to a great region match-up between 2 good teams.
As the action progressed, all players “stepped-up” their play in this in-county rivalry.
Lake View took the first set 25 to 15 while Latta took the second set 25-12. The third and deciding set went to Lake View with a 25-18 win.
Latta will also host another region game versus Hannah-Pamplico on Thursday, September 7, at 6:30 p.m.
Lake View will host Green Sea Floyds at 5:00 p.m. today (Thursday, September 7).
