Rev. Harold Cooke spoke at East Dillon Baptist Church on Sunday, September 10, at the 6:00 p.m. service.
This is the third year for Unity In The Community. In the first year four churches participated. In the second year 3 churches participated. This year there are 4 churches who are participating: Mount Calvary Baptist Church, East Dillon Baptist Church, Second Baptist Church, and Pyerian Baptist Church.
East Dillon Pastor James Smith welcomed everyone to the service.
Mrs. Connie Smith led the congregation in “The Bond of Love”.
Pyerian Baptist Church Pastor Dr. James Orr led in prayer.
Rev. James Smith welcomed everyone to the second Unity In The Community for this year.
Rev. Smith remarked of the 22nd Anniversary of 9-11. He invited everyone to attend the 9-11 at the Dillon County Courthouse grounds on Monday, September 11, at 9:00 a.m. “We are all ‘blood bought’. We should be proud to be Americans. Our spiritual freedom was provided by Jesus Christ. Our physical freedom was bought by our veterans. We should never forget!” exclaimed Rev. Smith.
Special singing was provided by the Mount Calvary Youth Group. The sang “Hallelujah” and “Honey In The Rock”.
Rev. Harold Cooke from Hebrews Chapter 9:27 “Appointments. Once to die but after this, the Judgment.
Rev. Cooke opened with prayer.
An invitation was given at the end of the sermon.
East Dillon Baptist Church is located at 702 South Sixteenth Avenue, Dillon.
