Mr. Johnny Ray Huggins, Sr. (Skeeter) died Sunday, July 23, 2023 at McLeod Regional Medical Center of Florence, after an illness.
A funeral service will be Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. Lake View Methodist Church, with burial to follow at Lake View Perpetual Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, July 25th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Cooke Funeral Home of Lake View.
Mr. Huggins was born February 2, 1967 in Dillon County, the son of the late Bruce and Vergie Jean Phillips Huggins. He served his community as a volunteer firefighter, where he was an honorary member of Dillon County Station #3 and Whitehouse Volunteer Station #36. He also ran a Towing and Recovery business in Lake View for over 20 years, and sponsored many sports teams for the Lake View Parks and Recreation Department.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Renee’ Huggins; sons, Alex Huggins (Sara), Robby Huggins, Johnny Ray Huggins (Brittany), Chris Huggins, and Brad Taylor (Jennifer); brothers, James Smith (Carrie) and Daniel Huggins (Norma); sister, Renee McKenzie (Harry); mother-in-law, Olivia Coburn; grandchildren, Brianna Huggins, Sophia Huggins, Patricia Jean Huggins, Connor Huggins and Carson Huggins; a special friend, Stevie Hood (Jenny); and a host of nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Smith (Christine); a sister, Faye Hyatt (Bill); and his father-in-law, Robert Coburn.
