East Dillon Baptist Church held the opening night of Camp Meeting 2023 on Sunday, May 21, at 6:30 p.m.
East Dillon Baptist Church’s pastor, Rev. James Smith, opened with prayer and welcomed everyone.
Mrs. Connie Smith led the singing.
Rev. Harold Cook of Mount Calvary Baptist Church was the first to preach the Word. He spoke from 1 Kings, Chapter 18. His sermon was entitled “Looking forward, looking back”. We are all seeking revival. Looking back one must rely on the promises of God. Looking forward do not rely on one’s self but on the promises of God. We must all “surrender” to God. An invitation was offered.
Rev. Ritchie Hicks of Dillon Second Baptist Church also spoke form 1 Kings, Chapter 17, “The Brook Before Reviva.”
Before revival there has to be a “dryness” in one’s life. One must want and seek revival.
An invitation was given.
The service concluded in prayer.
