Mrs. Katie Lee Moody, 88, passed away at her residence in Fork on December 8, 2022, after a brief illness.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Elvington (Danny) of Lake View; son, Craig Moody of Mullins; grandsons, Brooks Carter (Heather) of Florence and Jason Carter of Marion; 2 great granddaughters, Morgan Alyssa Carter and Ashlyn Brook Carter of Florence.
Ms. Moody was preceded in death by her mother, Fannie Price; brother, O’Neil Shepherd; and late husband, William Van Moody.
The family would like to express special thanks to Shannon Carter and Angela Harps of Agape Care of SC for the wonderful care provided. Katie Lee was always known for her smile. Whether on the farm, at Dixianna Mills or Sunny Acres Nursing Home, her work ethic was of the highest standard. She loved her family and friends well, and poured into their lives and others a caring wisdom more valuable than gold.
Mrs. Moody enjoyed flowers and was an accomplished baker, who took great pleasure in providing sweet treats to family, friends, and members of the community.
A funeral service will be Sunday, December 11 at 3:00 pm at Fork Baptist Church, followed by entombment at Evergreen Perpetual Cemetery of Dillon. The family will receive friends at 2:00 pm on December 11, at Fork Baptist Church, prior to the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fork Baptist Church.
