Memorial services for Edwin Owen “Bubba” Strickland were held 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2022 at First Baptist Church directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation was held 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Bubba, 67, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022 at the Pruitt Health in Dillon.
Born in Dillon, SC, April 7, 1955, he was the son of Mattie Wallace Strickland and the late Edwin Strickland.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, and he was an avid sports fan.
He was a 1974 graduate of Dillon High School where he was very athletic playing football and baseball, and was a member of the North-South All-Star team in 1974.
Survivors include his sons, Alex Strickland and Slaydon Strickland, both of Latta; mother, Mattie Wallace Strickland of Dillon; sister, Mattie S. Gill of Dillon; brother, David Shelley Strickland (Holli); numerous nieces, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Bubba was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Strickland and his niece, Amy P. Gill.
