Estelle Church Scott, age 101, passed away on March 8, 2022 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home near Fork, S.C. where she had resided for the past 5 years.

Estelle Scott was born September 13, 1920 in the Kemper Community where she attended Kemper and Lake View public schools. She was a lifetime resident of Lake View, South Carolina.
Upon graduation from Lake View High School, she attended Marlboro Business College in Bennettsville, S.C. where she studied accounting. She was the manager of a dime store in Lake View before and during World War 2. She married Thomas B. Scott, Sr. “Brad”, an Army soldier, on November 16, 1942 in Red Bank, New Jersey, a few days before he shipped out to North Africa where he remained until the end of the war. She managed his farm interests until he returned.
She was a housewife, mother to three children, a seamstress, and an occasional substitute teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son John Marshall Scott, her parents Charles Monroe Church and Georgia Hayes Church, and all eleven of her brothers and sisters of which
there were 5 boys (Monroe, Alton, Maxie, David, Jim) and 6 girls (Elsie, Lummie, Edna, Olive, Nell, Jaxie).
She is survived by one son, Dr. Thomas B. Scott Jr., one daughter Martha Scott Stanford, three grandchildren: Deborah S. Harris of Raleigh, N.C., Alexander Scott of Columbia, S.C., Katerina Scott of Columbia, S.C., and 3 great grandchildren: Ty Harris (Tabitha) of Louisburg, N.C., Brad Harris of Raleigh N.C., and Savannah Harris of Raleigh N.C.
A funeral service will be held Monday March 14, 2022 at 2 pm at the Cooke funeral Home Chapel in Lake View S.C. Visitation will be held from 12 pm to 2 pm at the Cooke Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Lake View Cemetery following the funeral.
