Robert Clifford Jones, Jr., 85, went to be with his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 6, 2022. Born in Bronx, New York, November 17, 1936, Robert was the son of the late Robert Clifford Jones, Sr. and the late Dolores Cecelia Smith Jones Lennon. He served his country for 22 years. Robert was a U.S. Marine Veteran of the Vietnam War where he served as a Wire Chief. He was a member of the Dillon Church of God. Robert received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medals, Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medals, Rifle-Pistol Expert Badge, Certificate of Commendation Vietnam Service Medal.
Services will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Pastor Joe Grice. Burial with full military honors will be held in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3:00-4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The service will be livestreamed on Cooper Funeral Home’s Facebook webpage.
Survivors include his wife Emma G. Martin-Jones, daughters Theresa Ann Sangder (Larry) of Seattle, Wa., Bobbie Jean Haberstich of Dillon, SC, Judith Cecelia Sangder (Todd) of Seattle, Wa, and Gerri Joy Alderman of Dillon, SC; sons Timothy Jacob Jones of Dillon, SC, Jimmy Lester Martin and Larry Ricky Martin; sisters, Dolores (Dodie) Cecelia Jones Overton (Jim) and Colleen (Kelly) Anne Lennon Boone, (Randy) and beloved grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
