Although Lake View stand out Hunter Norton inked with UNC Pembroke on Monday, February 7, at the Lake View Athletic Office, to further his football and academic career in sports medicine, he also had offers from St. Andrews and Guilford.
Norton was surrounded by family, friend, coaches, assistant athletic director, principal, and others for this special event in his life.
Norton has been playing football for 10 years and is eager to continue playing. His Father and coaches have influenced him in the sport.
Norton also plays baseball for Lake View.
Norton should be a good fit at UNC Pembroke as he loves the school and the coaching staff.
While playing as a linebacker at Lake View, Hunter Norton received awards such as SCFCA, All State, and Pee Dee Linebacker of the Year.
Norton will always remember and cherish the winning of Lower State in football in his junior year at Lake View High School.
While not playing or practicing football, Hunter enjoys hunting and fishing.
Norton’s parents, Robert and Terrie Norton are very proud of their son. Both commented “We look forward to seeing him play at the next level. We expect great things from him not only on the football field, but in the classrooms as well.”
Lake View football Head Coach Daryl King stated “We expect great things from Hunter. He will be a great addition to the football program at UNC Pembroke.”
