The Dillon Lady Wildcats returned home on Wednesday, January 25, having lost a heartbreaker 28-26 to the Aynor Lady Jackets in Aynor.
Dillon was down only 1 point after the first period of play. At halftime the two teams were knotted at 11 points each. After 3 quarters of play, Dillon was up by 2 points, 19 to 17.
Dillon’s Mariah Campbell led all scorers with 13 points. She connected for three 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and sank 4 free throws.
Cajada McInno added 5 points with a 3-point basket and a 2-point basket. Chintora Bethea and Ya’Brei Bruce each connected for two 2-point baskets for 4 points.
Aynor’s Laney Squires scored 11 points as she connected for four 2-point baskets and a 3-point basket. Shanya Alston had two 2-point baskets and a 3-point basket for 7 points while Morgan Oneal sank two 2-point baskets and 2 free throws for 6 points. Katie Goff and Lilly Johnson each sank a 2-point basket.
