Services for Harriett S. Harper will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery of Dillon. Visitation will be held 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Ms. Harper passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022 at her home.
Born in Knoxville, Tennessee May 28 1928 she was the daughter of the late William Frank and Mollie Elizabeth Townsend Sexton. She retired from Dixianna Mill after 24 years of faithful service. She raised her 5 children, took care of her grandchildren, great grands, nieces and nephews, and any little child that needed her love. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing delicious foods. She attended Dillon Congregational Holiness Church and East Dillon Baptist Church. She fed and took care of all stray, mangy, and wounded animals. She was the best mother, grandmother and all around friend, and yard sale queen.
Survivors include her children, Donald Harper Jr. (Carol) of New Martinsville, West Virginia, Gayle Harper Lane, Darlene Harper Wilkerson, Brian Harper, and Tammy Page (Kenny Bug) all of Dillon; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; life long best friend, Cathryn Johnson of Winston Salem, N.C.; friend and caretaker, Kathy Grantham.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Oran Sexton, Wayne Sexton, Gene Sexton, John Sexton, and D.V. Sexton and her sisters, Neola Stackhouse and Betty Pitts.
