The 1 A State Championship Ring Ceremony for the Lake View Wild Gator varsity baseball team was held Friday, October 22, at 6:00 p.m. in the Lake View Gym.
Head baseball Coach Kip Herlong stated how special this group of young men were. This baseball team dealt with many things such as Covid-19, game scheduling changes, and much more.
Herlong remarked, “The Lord tested the Lake View team.” In fact, Herlong was out for a week during baseball season.
“We were all challenged in this ‘short-cut’ society,” stated Herlong.
“One can not take short cuts and be successful. We seem to bypass all the small things. The way one carries one’s self makes a big difference. We want to be successful in life. We must do small things to be successful. It is easy to take short cuts but it is better to not take short cuts.”
Coach Herlong praised his team for their success and attitude.
Coach Herlong thanked the parents of the team for their assistance and attendance at practice and at games.
He also thanked his coaching staff.
Herlong introduced each player and members of the coaching staff assisted handing out the coveted state rings.
All in attendance had a great time.
