The Tyners of Hartsville, S.C., were the guest family ministry for the Sunday, August 15, 11:00 a.m. service at Mount Calvary Baptist Church.
The Tyners were well received by the congregation and visitors. The Tyners sang song after song and presented the Word for everyone to hear. Absent from the group on this particular day was Ricky.
At the end of the program, an invitation was given by Pastor Harold Cooke.
The Tyners family ministry was started in 1999 for the purpose of winning the lost for the Kingdom of God. They do this through singing and preaching the Gospel.
Ricky Tyner has been a musician most of his life. He started the ministry with his wife Beverly when he gave his life to Christ. Beverly prayed for Ricky for five and a half years before he surrendered his life to God. It was not long after his decision to follow Christ that the phones started ringing and people wanted him to share his testimony/sing at their churches.
In the beginning it was Ricky and his wife. Later the two children came into the picture. Their daughter Brooke, began singing at the age of two. She was on her first album at age five. Their son Noah was born when his sister was five.
The Tyners have continued for almost 20 years since the birth of their son.
Mount Calvary Baptist Church is located at 405 Mount Calvary Road, Dillon.
