Senior quarterback Jack Grider scored on a 45-yard option run on Dillon’s opening possession to cap an 80-yard drive on six plays to take a 6-0 lead. His kick failed, but the Wildcat defence was right back on the scoreboard seconds later when the Darlington quarterback was sacked in the endzone for a safety and 8-0 lead.
Another 80-yard scoring drive had Dillon up 14-0 on just 7 running plays with a trio of running backs carrying the mail. After consecutive first down runs by X’Zavian Davis (Sophomore), Junior Ty Martin and senior Nemo Squire put the ball at the Falcon 8 yard line Sophomore Kamarion Singletary scored and Grider was successful with the point-after kick for 15-0 lead.
In the second quarter, the Wildcat defense set up another touchdown when senior Amari Dingle picked off a pass for 35 yards that was returned to the Falcon 4 and three plays later Singleton was back in the endzone for a 21-0 lead. Grider was successful with the extra point for a 22-0 lead as the game clock was allowed to run continuously at 10:53.
Another Darlington fumble gave the Cats their fourth scoring opportunity at the Falcon 35 yard-line. Davis scored on a 16-yard for a 28-0 final score.
