Dr. Donovan V. Wells, Director of Bands for Bethune-Cookman University Marching Wildcats surprised Adrian Wright, Band Director of the Dillon High School Marching Wildcats, with a visit on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at his home.

Dr. Wells was returning from a visit to his hometown of Smithfield, Virginia.
Dr. Wells is a 1984 alumnus of Bethune-Cookman University and a 1995 graduate of the Norfolk State University Graduate School of Music in Norfolk, Virginia.
He is celebrating his twenty-fifth year as Director of Bands at Bethune-Cookman University this year. Dr. Wells and The Marching Wildcats have performed nationally on NBC, BET, ESPN, UPN, MTV Super Bowl Special, opening the “Ellen DeGeneres Show,” a guest appearance in the 20th Century Fox film, Drumline, pre-game for the 2009 Superbowl in Tampa Florida, halftime entertainment for the 2010 Pro Bowl in Miami, Florida and the reality TV show called “The Battle.”
The surprise visit was coordinated by Brendan Johnson, Band Director at Darlington High School/Bethune-Cookman graduate, and Kadra Wright, wife of Adrian.
