Marvin is known to most Rock Hillians as the face of Good Pharmacy which he owned and operated for 58 years. His compassion for all he served, regardless of race or standing in life, is a tribute to the legacy of Good Pharmacy. The smile which greeted hundreds of customers on a daily basis will be sorely missed in Rock Hill.

Marvin was a GAMECOCK! He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1959 with a degree in pharmacy. His love of Gamecock football landed him recognition as President of the York County Gamecock Club, and Legendary Fan. He established a scholarship fund within the U.S.C School of Pharmacy. He was a member of Woodland Methodist Church for over six decades and served as Treasurer and Board Member. He served on the S.C. Board of Pharmacy for 12 years and served as Chairman. He was honored with a commendation from the S.C. Legislature. He served as board member for Guardian Fidelity and WRHI. He was a past member of the Sertoma Club, Rotary Club, and Elks Lodge. He proudly served on the Alexa R. Good A.L.S. Foundation. The rare occasions when Marvin was not at work at the drug store, he enjoyed the beach, fishing and, of course, Gamecock sports.
Marvin devoted himself with an unwavering commitment to his family, rearing his children to successful careers and launching his grandchildren into meaningful educational endeavors. He also mentored and sponsored many individuals in the pharmaceutical profession into successful careers. This big-hearted man loved and dedicated his life to others, his reward being witness to the growth and happiness in those whom he touched. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be made to the Alexa R. Good A.L.S. Foundation, P.O. Box 12248, Rock Hill, S.C. 29731 or to the local charity of one’s choice
