A fire call resulted in a drug arrest, according to Sheriff Douglas Pernell of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies received a fire call at Avalon Academy. When the responding officer arrived, a bunch of vehicles were pulling off, and he stopped them.
Deputy Ryan Bethea arrived on the scene and smelled marijuana coming from one of the vehicles.
As a result of his investigation, three bags of mairjuana and eight Ecstasy pills were found along with some scales.
Nicholas Overby was arrested. His charges are possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of ecstasy, open container, and trespassing.
