“DHSF Presents,” the events committee of The Dillon Historic School Foundation, has begun preliminary plans for the 2020-2021 season. Beginning in the fall of 2020 and extending into late spring of 2021, four entertainment events are being scheduled, although determining dates and performance sites will primarily depend on COVID-19 projections. The logistics of scheduling professional productions months in advance can quickly be upended by unexpected weather conditions when all parties concerned can only hope for the best. The current coronavirus pandemic, however, presents far more complex issues to be most carefully considered and then safely resolved.
“DHSF Presents” remains highly optimistic that the chosen events will certainly be staged this season and will provide post-pandemic relief, enjoyment, and professional performances for Dillon audiences. Negotiations with all artists and their agents are presently underway. The planned events are: Niels Duinker and Jason Andrews (an award-winning variety act of professional juggling and magic); A Town Hall with Ken Ard and Dave Baker (conservative radio talk-show hosts, “Wake Up, Carolina!”); Tony Lee and Friends (a widely acclaimed ensemble of youthful jazz musicians); and Emile Pandolfi (a world-renowned concert pianist and entertainer) with Dana Russell (guest soloist).
Detailed descriptions and promotions of all acts and performers, along with information of performance dates, times, and venues will be publicized after the legal contracts have been completed and signed.
In addition to contracted appearances by professional artists, “DHSF Presents” plans to produce an event featuring talented performers who still reside in Dillon or who will return to perform for us again.
“DHSF Presents” is a non-profit 501©3 organization that is primarily sustained by contributions from local groups and sponsors including: individuals, local agencies, Dillon’s City and County Councils, area businesses and industries, as well as various civic clubs. Scheduling and presenting professional performances in Dillon can only succeed with this community’s generous and continuous support. Choose now to become actively involved in revitalizing the soul of our hometown! You will be greatly rewarded and entertained.
