Violet E. Turner, age 91, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020.
Mrs. Turner was born in Laurinburg, NC, the daughter of the late John and Bertha Elliott. She was predeceased by one son, Ernest Turner, Jr., four sisters and three brothers.
Mrs. Turner was a faithful active member of First Baptist Church of Dillon and the Gideon Ladies Auxiliary.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed baking and sewing for her loved ones and others in the community.
She was a devoted wife of 72 years, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest “Rusty” Turner, Sr. of Dillon, one son, Ronnie (Beryl) Turner of Palm Coast, FL; two daughters, Patricia Turner Johnson of Conway, SC, and Tammy Turner Macomson of Durham, NC; one son-in-law, Jim Macomson of Durham, NC; one daughter-in-law, Fay Turner of Rowland, NC; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alene (Vern) Rogers of Chapin, SC and Maxine Patrick Oak Island, NC.
The family would like to thank Hospice of South Carolina for their loving care through the recent past and would like to give special appreciation to Irene Thompson and Rachel Lane.
Burial services directed by Cooper Funeral Home wereheld Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. at Dillon’s Evergreen Cemetery (2450 Hwy 301 N.) with Pastor Jamie Arnette and Dr. Dickie Cullum officiating.
The family received friends in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church of Dillon (400 N. 4th Avenue) from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
