Mrs. Marguerite Ford Arnette died Monday, February 3, 2020 at McLeod Medical Center of Dillon after an illness.
A memorial service will be Friday, Feb. 7 at 2:00 pm at Piney Grove Baptist Church, with burial to follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 6 from 6:00 to 8:00 at Cooke Funeral Home of Lake View.
Mrs. Marguerite was born in Fair Bluff, NC, the daughter of the late Alec and Mamie Bullock Ford. She began her career as a dance instructor in Fayetteville, and then was employed by DSS in Fayetteville. She left DSS to go to work with Dr. Fleshman, where she worked for 12 years. After marrying Mr. Billy and moving to Dillon County, she began working with DSS of Lumberton and remained there until her retirement. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Arnette; son, David Kniphfer; daughter, Cindy Clow (Wayne); sister, Sara Oetgen of Savannah Ga.; grandson, Adam Knipher (Gina); great grandchildren, David and Adrian Kniphfer, Stepdaughters, Bethea Cock (Tom) and Allison Robeson (Dixon); step grandchildren, Ben, Rachel and Alli.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Piney Grove Baptist Church.
