The Latta Lady Vikings returned home on Friday, January 10, with a 56-25 win over Hannah-Pamplico in a varsity basketball game played in Pamplico.
Latta jumped out to a 10-1 lead after the first period of play. By halftime, the lead was 31 points, 39-31. After 3 quarters of play, the Vikings enjoyed a 50-20 lead.
Latta committed only 3 fouls in the first half and 8 in the second half. Hannah-Pamplico committed 8 fouls in the first half and 8 fouls in the second half.
Latta’s Moya McDuffie led all scorers with 21 points on five 2-point shots, three 3-point shots, and 2 free throws. Ri’Ana Green added 13 points on three 2-point shots, two 3-point shots, and a free throw. Kadaisha Wheeler connected for a 3-point shot and two 2-point shots for 7 points. Dasha Burdshall, Ezica Grice, and Brycelyn Berry each connected for 4 points on two 2-point baskets. Adaya Gordon had a 2-point basket and a free throw for 3 points.
Hilary Williams led Hannah-Pamplico with 8 points on a 3-point basket and 5 free throws. Hailey Radgers had three 2-point baskets for 6 points. Maddy Boyle connected for 2 free throws for 2 points. Korah Turner and Takeia Wilson each sank a 2-point basket.

The Latta Vikings placed 20 points on the scoreboard in the first quarter of play while holding Hannah-Pamplico to 10 points. By halftime, Latta’s lead had been cut to 3 points, 31-28. In the third quarter each team placed 19 points on the scoreboard. However, Latta pumped in 19 points and held Hannah-Pamplico to only 6 points.
Latta’s Tryon Miles scored a game-high 22 points, and Jamario Taylor added 20 points. DJ Griffin and Raheim Bowman each added 9 points. Andrew Bryant contributed 8 points. Jamar Jones sank a free throw.
Hannah-Pamplico’s Cyrus Ellison scored a team-high 18 points, and Davian Coaxum connected with 17 points. Zander Poston added 8 points while Lane Calcutt placed 4 points on the scoreboard. Floyd Eaddy added 3 points, and Javonte Davis and Jalson Graham each garnered 2 points.
Latta committed 10 fouls in the first half and 7 fouls in the second half. The Latta Vikings will host Carvers Bay today, (Tuesday, January 14). Support your team.
