Mrs. Eva Hulon Brogdon, 90, widow of Leon Brogdon, went to be with her Lord Monday, December 16, 2019 after a brief illness at MUSC Health Mullins Nursing Center.
Mrs. Brogdon was born in Dillon County on May 28, 1929 to the late Willie R. Hulon and the late Betsy Hulon. Along with being a retired textile worker, Mrs. Hulon helped with the Council on Aging, Helping Hands and was a helper with the Floydale Fire Department. Mrs. Brogdon was an active member of Mt. Andrew United Methodist Church in Floydale, where she served in the Ladies Auxiliary, and taught Sunday School.
Surviving Mrs. Brogdon are her Children: Patricia B. (Doug) Shelley of Randleman, NC, William E. (Creacy) Brogdon of Nichols, Michael W. (Gail) Brogdon, Sr. of Nichols, Judy Lynn (Robert) Henry of Cheraw and Wanda (Steve) Lee of Williamsburg, VA; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren; along with nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Brogdon was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah Dorn; a brother, Fred Hulon; and a sister, Inez Lamb.
The family received friends and well-wishers Friday, December 20 from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Andrew United Methodist Church in Floydale.
Funeral services followed at 2:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary of Mt. Andrew, with Rev. Mike Rouse and Rev. Haywood Proctor officiating. Burial will follow at a later date. Cox-Collins Funeral Home of Mullins is assisting the family.
