The Yellow Jessamine Garden Club celebrated National Garden Club Week on June 2-8, 2019.
Each day the club participated in a variety of projects throughout the week to promote the objectives of NGC.
It is also a week to inspire gardening among our neighborhoods and towns. Several objectives of the National Garden Club are education of environmental efforts, gardening, and beautification.
To initiate this week, the YJGC placed a beautiful arrangement of pink roses and Queen Anne’s lace at The Dillon County Chamber of Commerce.
Various other projects for the week were cleaning around Blue Star Memorials, placing new flowers on former garden club members’ graves, planting a rose in honor of all breast cancer survivors, and taking an arrangement to the local nursing home to honor our veterans. The Yellow Jessamine Garden Club is a member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc., South Atlantic Region, The Garden Club of South Carolina, Inc., Coastal District of The Garden Club of South Carolina.
