Marie Owen McDowell, 79 years old, graduated to heaven on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Dundee Nursing Home, Bennettsville, SC.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 30, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in the Dillon Church of God with burial in Evergreen Perpetual Care Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
Born on December 21, 1939, in Dillon, SC. She was the daughter of the late, Ruby Morris McDowell, and Dowsey McDowell. She was a faithful member of Dillon Church of God for many years. Marie loved her church family and was about family. Her best quality is that beautiful smile she presented to everyone she encountered. She loved the Lord and enjoyed church and fellowship, these were the things that meant most to her.
She leaves behind one living brother, Rev. Gerald David McDowell and his wife Lydia McDowell of Dillon, 4 sisters: Margie Shreves of Chester, VA, Joyce Webb of Merritt Island, FL, Doris Mathison of Pulaski, PA, and Debbie Lynn Rouse of Dillon; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death by her 2 sisters, Evelynn McCrae of Cocoa, FL, and Mary Florence Frazier of Fayetteville, NC; 3 brothers: Edward McDowell, Jack Glenn McDowell, and Ralph Ellis McDowell.
