The Dillon Christian School Lady Warriors returned home on Thursday, March 14, with a 7-6 win over Emmanuel Christian School in Hartsville.
Emmanuel Christian took an early 1-0 lead after the first inning and added a run in the bottom of the third to take a 2-0 lead before Dillon could tie the game in the top of the fourth inning. However, Emmanuel Christian responded with a run in the bottom of the fourth to once again take 3-2 lead. The Lady Warriors placed 2 runs on the scoreboard in the top of the fifth inning to take a 1-run lead. In the sixth inning Dillon scored a run to take a 2-run lead. Emmanuel Christian tied the game in the bottom of the sixth inning with 2 runs. Dillon Christian’s Shayla Hunt homered in the top of the seventh inning for the winning run.
The Lady Warriors’ Madison Bailey pitched the 7-inning game and struck out 6 in the win.
Emmanuel Christian’s #27 was charged with the loss.
Emmanuel Christian managed 6 hits while holding Dillon to 5 hits in the game.
The Lady Warriors’ Sarah Martin managed 2 hits, and Savannah Sherman managed a hit. Shayla Hunt homered in the game and also garnered a walk.
