The Thomas Sumter Academy Lady Generals claimed a 48-35 victory over the Dillon Christian School Lady Warriors on Monday, February 18, at the state quarter finals held in Sumter.
Thomas Sumter held a 9-6 lead over Dillon Christian after the first period of play. At halftime Thomas Sumter was up 22-16. After 3 periods of play, the Lady Generals led Dillon Christian by 8 points, 30-22.
Thomas Sumter’s Karleigh Young had a game-high 16 points. Aubrey Stoddard added 13 points, and Sydney Daniel added 10 points to the scoreboard for the Lady Generals. Lindsay Daniel connected for 5 points. Lizzie Silvester and Emily Jackson each garnered 2 points.
Taren DuBose led Dillon Christian School with 13 points of which 11 points were in the second half. Anna Thompson connected for 8 points while Lizzie Outlar added 6 points. Sarah Stone contributed 3 points while Sara Freeman and Taylor Britt each garnered 2 points.
Thomas Sumter committed 7 fouls in the first half and 7 fouls in the second half while Dillon Christian committed 8 fouls in the first half and 10 fouls in the second half.

The body of a man reported missing has been located.
According to Captain Cliff Arnette, on Monday, February 25, 2019 the body of a Dillon man reported missing to the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office has been located.
The death is currently under investigation by the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office and Dillon County Coroner’s Office.
The coroner has ordered an autopsy to be performed on the body.
