Benny Cooper was the guest speaker on Wednesday, October 3, at noon, at the NAP, Need A Prayer meeting held at B&C Steak & Bar-b-que.
Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal and fellowship.
Mr. Cooper had a prayer and spoke briefly from Luke 12:16 And He told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest.
Cooper presented three philosophies to those in attendance. Cooper used the Good Samaritan as an illustration.
The first philosophy was that some believe “what is yours is mine.” Socialists believe in this.
Some are jealous of others when it comes to one having something and another not having the same.
The second philosophy that some believe is “What is mine is mine, and I am going to keep it.” This is not a good philosophy.
We forget that what we have was given to us by God.
The third philosophy is the one that Jesus practiced. “What is mine is yours if you need it.”
Jesus has attempted to get us to live this same philosophy.
Jesus said “Do you really want to know how to help one another? Love one another.”
NAP, Need A Prayer meets weekly at noon at B&C Steak & Bar-B-Que, 829 Radford Boulevard, Dillon.
