The descendants of Columbus and Emmaline Manning gathered on July 4, 2018 for a family reunion at the residence Dr. Kenneth Manning.
Mrs. Emmaline Manning welcomed everyone and gave reflections about the importance of family and traditions. A representative from each family introduced their family members. The youngest family member at the reunion was Delana McBride-Drayton (four months old), the matriarch is Evang. Mildred Tarte and the patriarch is Dr. Herman C. Manning. Paul Manning, Jr. entertained everyone with songs and playing his guitar. The blessing was by Evang. Mildred Tarte. Then everyone enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Derrick Graves.
Two descendants of Columbus and Emmaline Manning received a scholarship. The recipients were: Grace A. Manning, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn (Shawn) Manning, Jr. and granddaughter of the late Paul and Harnethea Manning and Isaiah Tarte, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallie (Edwina) Tarte, Sr. and the grandson of Evang. Mildred Tarte and the late John Tarte. Both Grace and Isaiah will be attending North Carolina A & T University (fall 2018). After eating and fellowshipping everyone enjoyed music provided by Timothy Cousar. Family members gathered for a group photo to document this wonderful occasion.
Reunion Committee Members were: Linda Manning Langley, Emmaline Manning Page, Russell and Connie Manning and Dr. Miranda E. Manning.
