Memorial services for Bobby Carroll Carter were held 6:00 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation was held 5:00-6:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Carter, 69, went to be with his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 16, 2018.
Born in Dillon County, SC, February 4, 1949, he was the son of the late Roy Carter and Alice Louise Ammons Carter. He was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, and was retired as a Manager at First Citizens Bank in McColl, SC. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, and a Mason. Bobby enjoyed cooking for his church family and friends, and also loved working in his yard.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Margaret Eagerton Carter of Dillon; daughter, Faye Carol Gooden (Al) of Florence; sons, John Michael Williams (Pam), Thomas Christopher Williams, and Daniel Craig Williams; grandchildren, Chelsea Lynn Williams, and Tripp Gooden; sister, Irene Grimsley of Dillon.
Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers and sisters, Virginia Kernodle, Rachel Owens, Christine Huggins, William “Bill” Carter, Jimmy Carter, and Lamar Carter.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church Kitchen Fund, 200 E. Harrison St., Dillon, SC 29536.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the McLeod Hospice for the care given to Mr. Bobby. They would also like to thank their family and friends for the love and all the prayers on their behalf.
