LITTLE RIVER, S.C. — On July 26, 2018, Greg Hembree, State Senator representing Horry and Dillon Counties, experienced what doctors are calling a very small aneurysm. Emergency Medical Services responded quickly, his medical condition was immediately assessed and treatment started within an hour of onset.
As a result, Hembree’s prognosis is excellent and doctors expect a full recovery and a return to his life with no restrictions. He has experienced no neurological impacts in connection with the aneurysm and is fully engaged with his doctors, medical staff and family. Over the next few weeks he will be closely monitored, but no surgery is indicated as the condition is expected to self-resolve.
During this time, he will remain in the hospital where he will require space and quiet to heal. While he and his family request they be given their privacy as he recuperates, they express their sincere and heartfelt appreciation for everyone’s prayers and words of encouragement. Hembree extends his tremendous admiration and appreciation for the first responders and very professional medical staff who intervened on his behalf.
