Kelci Hunt, an 8th grader at Dillon Middle School, has been accepted into the South Carolina Governor’s School Summer Program for the Arts and Humanities.
The administrators, faculty, and staff are extremely proud of her!
The two-week Discovery Summer Program for rising ninth grade students will be held in Greenville, S.C. The Summer Discovery is for students who are interested in Animation, Creative Writing, Drama, Music, or Visual Arts.
Kelci will work intensely in the area of Visual Arts but will also be exposed to the other art areas with an opportunity to visit the Greenville County Museum of Art. During the two weeks, Kelci will be encouraged to discover her talents through intensive studio sessions in several visual art areas throughout the program.
She will engage in two- and three-dimensional design through hands-on courses such as printmaking and ceramics, and in projects like stone carving, painting, and photography while also strengthening her understanding and use of visual language.
Kelci will do an outstanding job highlighting her abilities during the Summer Discovery Program. Her talent is truly an example of “Nothing Less Than the Best” here at Dillon Middle School.
