The Dillon Historical School Foundation’s March meeting was held on Tuesday, March 6th, 2018 at the Dillon Chamber of Commerce Offices. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Lorene Arnette. Vice-Chairman, Abbott Shelley offered the invocation, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag.
Secretary Mary Miller presented the February minutes which were approved with no corrections. Ms. Miller also presented the written Financial Report in the absence of Treasurer.
Chairman Arnette introduced Gerrid Clark who presented information regarding mold control, inspections, eradication, crawlspace encapsulation, air testing and sampling, sump pumps, foundation drains, water removal, air duct cleaning, as well as many other services provided by his company, Best Breathing.
At the conclusion of his talk, the members continued work begun in February, on setting immediate, short-term goals. Plans focused on grant opportunities and building repairs and maintenance. Also under unfinished business Mary Miller reported on progress for construction of a protective barrier to prevent rain water from collecting under West Elementary in order to avoid damage to the building.
New business included approval of acquisition of kitchen equipment and approval of a contract to clean the white building of contaminants. Also a committee of the whole was developed to plan financial opportunities for the organization.
The meeting adjourned with a reminder that the next meeting will be on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018, at the Dillon Chamber of Commerce Conference room at 7:00 p.m. Visitors and new members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
