Loris Wins
The Loris Lions left Dillon on Friday night, January 19, with a 76-60 win over the Dillon Wildcats in boys varsity basketball action.
The Wildcats controlled the tip-off and quickly scored two 2-point baskets to take a 4-0 lead before Loris’ #11 sank a 3-point basket.
After the first period of play Dillon held a slim 1-point lead, 17-16.
In the first period of play Dillon committed 6 fouls to Loris’ 3.
The Lions took a 1-point lead on the first shot of the second period of play. The Wildcats responded with a 3-point shot by Corrain Wright.
With 4:48 remaining in the first half, Dillon was up 28-19. Dillon soon lost the lead and found themselves trailing Loris 41-30 at halftime.
Dillon began to cut into the lead with 6:14 remaining in the third period. However, Loris responded and after 3 periods of play Loris once again held a 11-point lead, 58-48.
In the third period of play Dillon only committed 2 fouls while Loris was guilty of 3.
Moments after the fourth period of play began, Dillon’s Darius Boatwright was injured and transported to the hospital via ambulance.
With 6:13 remaining in the game Loris still held an 11-point lead, 59-48.

Lady Gators Fall To Hemingway
The Lake View Lady Wild Gators suffered a 4-point loss, 37-33, to Hemingway on Tuesday, January 16, while in Hemingway.
Lake View held a 3-point, 12-9, lead after the first period of play but fell behind at halftime by 3 points, 19-16. Hemingway outscored Lake View 12-8 in the third period, and Lake View outscored Hemingway by 1 point in the final period of play
Lake View was led by Janeiya Walters with 12 points. Janai Ford added 8 points for the Lady Wild Gators while Zandaisia McNeil connected for 7 points. Milashia Wheeler, Tankashia Wheeler, and Olivia McDaniel each garnered 2 points. Courtney Smith led Hemingway with 12 points. Williams connected for 9 points while Dollard hit for 6 points. Stokes added 7 points while Cooper hit for 2 points. Johnson sank a free throw for another point.
Lake View traveled to Hannah Pamplico on Friday, January 19, and will host Creek Bridge tonight, Tuesday, January 23.

DCS Loses To PDA
The Dillon Christian School Warriors traveled to Mullins on Tuesday, January 16, and dropped an 8-point decision to the Pee Dee Academy Eagles 56-48.
Pee Dee Academy held a slim 2-point, 15-13, lead over Dillon Christian after the first period of play. By halftime, Pee Dee Academy held a 7-point lead.
Pee Dee Academy outscored Dillon Christian by 4 points in the third quarter.
The Warriors scored 3 points more than the Eagles in the final period.
Montez Alford led Dillon Christian with 16 points followed by Ian Bethea with 14 points. Diaz Alexander connected for 6 points while Ian Patterson added 4 points. Jackson Wolfe and Ross Carlyle each scored 3 points. Walt Bailey garnered 2 points.
A. J. Vaught led Pee Dee Academy with 16 points. Jake Lane hit for 10, and Webster hit for 8 points. Gasque and Carter each had 7 points. Martin connected for 4 points while Brewer and Jesse Lane each garnered 2 points.
Dillon Christian School traveled to Marlboro Academy on Friday, January 19, and traveled to Emmanuel Christian on Monday, January 22.
The Warriors will host Kings Academy on Tuesday, January 23.

Gators Fall To Hemingway
The Lake View Wild Gators suffered a loss at the hands of Hemingway on their home court on Tuesday, January 16.
The Wild Gators found themselves down 6 points at the end of the first quarter. Hemingway continued to add to the lead in the second quarter and again in the third period. However, Lake View outscored Hemingway 10-6 in the final period of play.
Ja’Montrell Waters had 13 points to lead Lake View while Milashia Wheeler and Bethea each connected for 8 points. Tatianna Blue garnered 2 points for the Gators.
Darius Taylor led Hemingway with a game-high 21 points. Tyrike Lewis connected for 11 points, and Darius Williams hit for 10. Bryant added 9 while Parker contributed 8 points. K. Davis scored 6 points while Lewis, Singletary, and Wright each garnered 2 points. M. Davis connected on a free throw for a point.
Lake View traveled to Hannah Pamplico on Friday, January 19.
The Wild Gators will host Creek Bridge tonight, Tuesday, January 23.

Lady Cats Lose Heartbreaker
The Dillon Lady Wildcats lost a heart-breaker to the Loris Lions 45-44 after having a comfortable 19-7 lead at halftime in a varsity basketball game played in Dillon on Friday, January 19.
The Lady Wildcats had a 7-4 lead after the first quarter. At the end of 3 quarters Dillon held a 27-17 lead but let the game slip away in the final moments. Dillon held a slim 2-point lead with 1:02 remaining in the game.
The Loris Lions committed 18 fouls to the Dillon Wildcats 16 fouls.
Every time the Loris Lions had the basketball on offense, one knew that #25, Ikela Green, would have the ball and either head for the basket or attempt a 3-pointer from the outside. She ended up the game with 25 points.
Dillon’s Jykya Bell led the team in scoring with 14 points followed by A’Doshia Graves with 9 points. Chyna Pouncey and Shantazia Gordon each hit for 6 points. Ja’Rhonda McCrimmon added 5 points while Jayla Goodwin and Adrianna Irvin each scored 2 points. Neadra Gause connected for 10 points for the Loris Lions while Ty’Anna Green added 5 points. Ariyana Hayes hit for 3 points, Lanise Harris garnered 2 points.
The Dillon Wildcats will travel to Waccamaw today, Tuesday, January 23.

Warriors Get Win
The Dillon Christian School Warriors varsity basketball team brought an 85-61 win over Maranatha home with them on Thursday, January 18, from Florence.
Jackson Wolfe and Dan Becheu each placed 20 points on the scoreboard for the Warriors.
Brad Patrick connected for a game-high 35 points for Maranatha while Bradley Bevan added another 18 points.
The Dillon Christian School Warriors will host Kings Academy today, Tuesday, January 23.

Vikings Hand Loss To Flashes
The Latta Vikings handed the Johnsonville Flashes a 77-48 loss on Friday, January 19, in Latta.
Johnsonville held a 5-point, 10-5, after the first period of play. However, by halftime Latta led 34-17. Latta managed to add 27 points to the scoreboard while holding Johnsonville to only 8 points in the third quarter to take a commanding lead into the final period of play. In the fourth period of play, Latta outscored Johnsonville 16-13.
The Vikings’ Nasir Sellers scored a game-high 25 points. Deonte Stanley added 16 points, and J. R. McClam hit for 13 points. Moultrie connected for 8 points while Darius McRae and Jaquan Butts each scored 5 points. Shiheed Jones and Calaeb Echols each garnered 2 points while Brandon Page picked up a point on a free throw.
Isiah Brown led Johnsonville with 11 points while Washington and Shuford each added 7 points. Lewis connected for 4 points, and Black garnered 2 points. Marlowe added a point on a free throw. Latta will travel today, Tuesday, January 23, to play Carvers Bay.

Wildcats Get Slim Win
The Dillon Wildcats returned home Tuesday, January 16, with a slim 1-point win over Georgetown in varsity basketball action.
The Wildcats held a 2-point, 18-16, lead after the first period of play. Each team scored 11 points in the second period of play. Therefore, at halftime, Dillon still held a 2-point lead.
In the third quarter of play Dillon outscored Georgetown 12-7 to increase the lead to 7 points. However, in the final period of play, Dillon was outscored 24-18.
Dillon’s Demari Ladson scored a game-high 21 points while Darius Boatwright contributed 12 points, and Zy’Aire Charles connected for 10 points. Ty’ric Porter added 9, and Jallian Williams hit for 7 points.
Georgetown’s McGrit led with 17 points followed by Gardner and Dorsey each who contributed 16 points. Logan hit for 6 points while W. Grant and D. Grant each garnered 3 points.
Dillon played Loris in Dillon on Friday, January 19.

Lady Gators Suffer Loss
The Lake View Lady Wild Gators suffered a loss by only 4 points, 48-44, to Creek Bridge at home on Tuesday, January 23.
With 4:45 remaining in the game, Creek Bridge held a 2 point, 43-41 lead.
Lake View closed the gap to only a point, 45-44, with 2:00 minutes remaining in the game.

Wildcats Earn Win
The Dillon Wildcats returned home with a 64-60 win over Waccamaw of Pawley’s Island on Tuesday, January 23.
Zy’Aire Charles led the Dillon Wildcats with 15 points of which he connected on two of two 3-point baskets attempted.
Dillon held a 31-18 lead at halftime and continued to lead after 3 periods of play having placed 19 points on the scoreboard in the third period of play.
Dillon’s Jallian Williams connected for 12 points in the game, and Corrain Wright hit for 10 points. Damari Ladson added 9 points while Shamar McCollum hit for 8 points. Ty’Quan Porter had 7 points for the night, and Justin Green hit for 3 points.
The Wildcats had 18 defensive rebounds and 14 offensive rebounds in the game.
Dillon made over 52% of the 2-point baskets attempted in the game while making 4 of the nine 3-point baskets attempted.
Dillon will travel to Aynor on Friday, January 26.

Lady Gators Pick Up Win
The Lake View Lady Wild Gators picked up a win, 44-38, against Hannah-Pamplico on Friday, January 19, in Pamplico.
Lake View was down by 2 points, 8-6, after the first quarter of play. At halftime, the Lady Gators held a slim 1-point, 17-16, lead.
By the end of the third period, Lake View was up by 8 points, 34-26.
Zandaisia McNeil led all scorers as she put 22 points on the scoreboard for Lake View. Janiyah Waters added 9 points while Tatianna Blue and Milashia Wheeler connected for 4 points. Tankashia Wheeler and Janai Ford each garnered 2 points. Olivia McDaniel connected on a free throw for a point.
Amani Simmons and T. T. Timmons each hit for 11 points to lead Hannah-Pamplico in scoring. Rogers added 6, and Boyles added 5. Elizabeth Turner connected for 4 points..

Creek Bridge Defeats Lake View
Creek Bridge handed Lake View a loss on Tuesday, January 23, at Lake View
Creek Bridge drew first blood before Jiqyle Reaves sank a 3-pointer to knot the game at 3. Reaves quickly sank a 2-pointer.
Fredrick Reaves connected on 2 free throws for the Wild Gators.
After the first period of play Lake View held a slim 1-point lead, 11-10.
The game was again knotted at 14 with 5:31 remaining in the first half.
At halftime Creek Bridge held a 6-point lead, 27-21.
Lake View found themselves down by 8 points, 40-32 after 3 periods of play.
Lake View will host Green Sea Floyds on Friday, January 26.
