The Dillon Wildcats boys varsity basketball team dropped a close one 64-59 to West Bladen of North Carolina on Thursday, December 28, at the Woodmen Life Tournament at Bladen High School.
The game was close the entire time. After the first period of play, West Bladen held a slim 1-point lead, 14-13. At halftime the score was West Bladen 32 and Dillon 30.
By the end of the third period of play, the Wildcats found themselves down by 4 points, 44-40.
Darius Boatwright led the Wildcats with 12 points of which 11 points came in the fourth period followed by Corrain Wright with 9 points while Damari Ladson connected for 8 points. Justin Green added 6 points for the ‘Cats, and Zy’Aire Charles connected for 4 points. Daizon Alford garnered a point on a free throw.
Dillon grabbed 39 rebounds in the game of which 15 were offensive and 24 were defensive.
